ICC leaves Lord’s

BBC SPORT | Cricket | Cricket chiefs move base to Dubai

Can somebody explain why, please? “operating in the United Kingdom under the current system is not in the best interests of our members” – but Dubai is? Dubai has a mish-mash of representative teams, including the UAE. So they’ve decided to move the headquarters away from Lord’s, the spiritual home of cricket, just for neutrality purposes? These kinds of decisions do irritate me. It’s clearly a tax problem – UK firms get taxed to the heavens, so perhaps Dubai is cheaper. That’s the only explanation I can offer.

Typical, bullshit bureaucracy – change for change’s sake.
